When to Say Goodbye

A short time ago we were visiting with a friend who related to us this wonderful experience which we are honored to pass on to you. The names are unimportant. The testimony is not!

Angel Separator

M is a gifted believer who sees and hears more of the kingdom than most. She is blessed with a prophetic gift and commands attention when she speaks.

Not long ago, M was called by a family suffering during, what appeared to be, the final hours of their beloved mother’s life. She had been a wonderful mother and the loss was painful and difficult for them to accept. When M arrived at the hospital, the children were hovering in the room where their mother lay, watching her as she drifted in and out of consciousness. They were not ready for her to die.

M surveyed the scene, and spoke softly to the sons and daughters that surrounded the bed, asking them if they would mind giving her a few minutes alone with their mom. They filed out of the room, looking over their shoulders as they exited, fearing to leave lest their mother would no longer be alive when they returned.

M laid her hands on the woman’s shoulders and she stirred.

“What’s happening, A…? Would you like to tell me? Your children called me as though you’re in pain and fighting to survive this trial and yet, you seem calm. Tell me. What’s going on.”

“I have had the most beautiful experience!” A… mustered up a subdued exclamation.

“I see angels all around the room. They look like they’re standing guard. Then, when I close my eyes, I drift off. And I feel like I’m floating in this wonderful light, feeling so good. Weightless and pain-free. And then I see my mother and my father and other loved ones who are no longer alive. They’re smiling and they’re waiting for me. Then, suddenly, I’m back here. I want to go.”

M asked if she could tell the family to come back into the hospital room. With A’s approval she called the loving children back in and said simply, “Your Mother is waiting for you to let her go. Are you ready?”

They quietly acquiesced and said their farewells. Within moments A… smiled and breathed a sigh. Her last.
