Feeding the Temple: What’s for Dinner? Part 1

“For ye are the temple of the living God;” II Corinthians 6:16b

Sometimes we forget that our Creator expects our bodies to be treated with reverence. It is our responsibility to care for it with discernment. Not an easy task in today’s busy, busy existence!

Wouldn’t you enjoy preparing great-tasting, healthy meals on the turn of a dime? When I say there are some easy answers, the reaction I usually get is, “Wow! Tell me more.”

Ah, yes! “What’s for dinner?”

Only too often it is something picked up on the way home with expediency more important than feeding the temple…our own or of those we love.

We know that to keep this “temple” in top notch working order we need to protect it with tastefully prepared, healthy food and regular exercise. This article will appear once every couple of weeks, here on the Winds of Eternity website, offering hints on food shopping, preparation, kitchen savvy and healthy eating. Uncomplicated recipes or how-to hints that are designed to make this endeavor quicker and easier will be a highlight of each posting. There’s no doubt that any input from you, our readers, will contribute to the joy of living for the rest of us!

Keep in mind that some mothers never had their kids tag along while shopping or hanging on their skirts (or jeans) during kitchen time. So, what you might consider rudimentary information, others may require. Therefore, for easy skimming, bullets are used. Who knows? Even practiced kitchen hands may find a tip or two that will come in handy!

We’ll be offering freezing tips in a later article for most produce, and most foods you’ve cooked (some you’ve never thought would work!), to give you an additional leg up on time spent in preparation. We’ll talk about spices, cover-ups for cooking boo-boos and even measurement comparisons to help make kitchen time less stressful (example: if you want a tablespoon but can only find the teaspoon measure…3 teaspoons = 1 tablespoon).

Again, dear friends, you are heartily invited to share your own tidbits to help the rest of us have a better trip between the refrigerator, the stove and the sink! Welcome to you all to this newcomer to our website while you are…Visiting The TreeHouse!
